Thread: The JR has me stumped.

Just to wrap it up..

Finished working on this razor over the last few days. Got it pinned up no problem. The washers came out pretty nice after some crox on a felt wheel and some steel wool. I did fill in alot of dings on the inside of the scales with CA but the outsides were in pretty good shape except for a big chip missing at the wedge end. I built that up with CA and sanded it back down. I soaked the scales in neatsfoot for about a week prior.

Other than that i just went over the scales and washers after it was pinned with some 0000 steel wool for a while then ren-waxed them.

I used 2 layers of tape for honing. Put the spine width around .240 for i believe about an 18 deg. bevel. Ill know how it shaves within the hour.

Ive been back to this thread a handful of times the last few weeks re-reading what was posted a few months ago. Thanks for any help!! I certainly used all of it.
