W&B
the scales are mother of pearl the blade is a W&B around 1910-1920 vintage
the wedge is mop also the liners are brass and black plastic the spacers in the mop is red plastic the piece in the center is nickle /silver the mop is 1.5mm thick and attached via epoxy and 1mm pure silver wire ,annealed and peened top and bottom as the brass liner and the mop are both slightly counter sunk to give the wire purchase, the spacers are drilled with a 1mm drill so the glue can form a spigot through the three holes in each so they can`t come loose and fall out the nickle /silver is attached with low melt temp silver solder
The collars and washers are one piece aluminum and fashioned from pop rivets, this spreads the load more evenly on the mop to reduce the chance of cracking while pinning. There is also a copper sleeve in the shank of the blade to act as a bearing. The pivot and wedge pins are 1/16" brass rod
Hope you like them
Kind regards Peter
PS while working with MOP I have come to the stark realization that , through the entire process of manufacture, total disaster is only a moment away
