Good Morning everyone. I finally got a decent day to get into my shop (aka garage) and really clean it and organize it. I dread this job but as evidenced in the pictures it was a long busy winter and it was in dire need of it. For the longest time I had been shopping around for an anvil but was unable to find one for a price that was worth me paying for so I would like to that Mr. Lewis for is idea on a post anvil as that is what I made mainly with scrap from a local Amish (yes I live in Amish country) welding shop. I took pictures of 3 5/8 fixed blades that I am working on for some fun. I had some extra 3/16 1095 and I am trying to get better at forging steel now that I have a suitable anvil to beat on, so I just went to work on seeing what I could do with some hot steel and a hammer.

One thing I added to my shop was the tool box (with the pipe sitting on it). I hold this near to me as I just inherited this from my grandfather who was a machinist after he returned home from the war. I learned a great deal from him with regards to machining and metalwork among many other things. I am now able to put to use all of his calipers, scribes, files...etc. It is great fun to spend a day making and working on razors using tools that were once used by one of the greatest most influential individuals (along with my father also a machinist) in my life.
