    Default Gold pins and washers

guys, I am looking for gold pins and washers. Does anyone have a good source for them?
Google is decidedly unhelpful when searching for gold pins, gold rod or gold bar stock

So far, the websites selling gold I've seen are only selling gold & platin pins for registered professional jewelers.

I'm using silver, it's way more easy to get.

A co-forumer I know is using gold to pin his razors. I'll ask him where he got it.

Thanks. I am making a small potato peeler from Turkish twist Damascus, and I want to use mammoth ivory and rubies for the handle. Gold pins seem only logical

Yes. If you are going to peel potatoes, you might as well do it in style.
I am going to man a table at the Gembloux knife show alongside Grace Horne this year. I will be showing some razors and knives but don't really hope to sell a lot. My main goal is to have fun, meet some old and new friends, and impress people like Grace, Mike, Hank, Ed, and several others. Making a sale would be nice but honestly I doubt anyone is going to buy a 700 euro potato peeler with mammoth ivory handle, 2 gold pins and 3 sets of gem quality rubies in a blue velvet presentation box.

Sometimes I don't have a better reason to do things than: because I could, and felt like doing it

    Hi Bruno,
I would suggest that you contact Jewellery Supply houses. for rod, and flat stock plus other findings.
Here a two that I trust, from years of service, here in the USA:
Jewelry Tools | Wholesale Jewelry Making Supplies | Stuller

    https://www.riogrande.com/
That should ive an idea of what you may looking for.
I know there are similar houses in Europe.
I look forward to your Potato Peeler!

Bring it to Charlie's next year and I,ll peel the taters for dinner! I mean how many times in a mans life do you get to peel taters with a jeweled peeler? Tc

I'm not shure how well gold pins would work. There relatively soft.

Indeed. I would use epoxy in between. The pins would merely be to keep things aligned and to give some added strength.
