Thanked: 15Twisted Sheffield
Whoa, how do I get this thing to close straight? Kinda hard to see but the blade is twisted off from the tang.

Probably need to unpinned that thing and work on the scales and that ugly spacer and go back to a wedge, it may have a bent pin too. Tc

Is this a test fit? I mean, are those tiny nuts and bolts that are holding it together and you can still easily take it apart? I'm wondering what the tang looks like. Sometimes with the older blades the tang is tapered more on one side. Is the tang hitting one of the scales on the way down and pushing the blade to the opposite side? It looks like you have a straight spacer as opposed to a wedge in the end. A wedge can help flex the scales open a little wider to give the tang clearance. If this is a test fit, maybe you could do a test with a wedge and see if that helps? I'm no expert, just throwing out ideas.

Are your pivot pin holes out of alignment by chance?

Thanked: 15Daaang. Harsh. Yes test fit. I was working on the scales and wedge, just stuck it in there and... whoa, wth!
Looking down the length, the whole blade is centered to one side.
Puzzler.
If you leave the pivot screw loose you can jack it over. Washers don't help unless you put three or more on one side.
Not sure how one could pin it wonked over.

Thanked: 77I hate when that happens. I've had my best luck with putting a radical wedge in there and letting it iron out the kinks. I've also steamed and boiled them to get them straight. Both ways worked for me. But be careful boiling you can easily ruin the scales and it smells, Dip for maybe 3 seconds at a time and straighten them out by hand as best you can, Soak thoroughly and neatsfoot oil after.

Thanked: 77You can also try making the scales really thin. I like a 2/16in for my warped horn razors.
