Freddie,
Thanks but there is a lot more to the story and I'll tell more soon!
I'm at my Nephew's home in Boise ID and I should be back at the Boars Nest tomorrow so I can join in on MY computer instead of this 'Lap Top' thatI'm struggling to use!

I'm back at the boars nest and as promised here's more of what went on at Freddie's home.
While in a way it was a 3 day 'Crash Course' however we just worked together with me showing him little tips and a few tricks that others have shown me. I think that the one Major thing that's going to keep improving Freddie's edges is the lapping of his hones.
Freddie and I went to Home Depot and picked up some 220 and 320 Wet and Dry and a 12"X12" piece of marble to do the lapping on. The wet and dry was a new product to me in that the backing was slip resistant and upon using it, it indeed held tight to the marble.
While they were no where near as rough as a (Non Lapped Norton 4/8) his Naniwa 3/8 really smoothed out and as I told him, he'd find that they really weren't the same hones as before. (I think he'll agree as he honed 3 razors after the lapping and a little help).
I'm a firm believer in hands on learning and it really stood out with working with Freddie. I'm not the best teacher out there but I didn't need to be because Freddie is an outstanding student! He picked up what I was saying and showing really quick
I'll be writing more about my time with Freddie in another thread soon.
With that said, Freddie; Thanks again for Everything :
Ps: As far as stocking up his fridge with beer/I'd drank what he had in there and being a good Boy Scout, I always leave my campsite better than I found it!Last edited by cudarunner; 08-28-2016 at 02:02 AM.

Thanked: 4206Look forward to more of the tale Roy.
Freddie's spread looked everything I imagine a New Mexican casa to be from the picture in the driveway.
Envious of such a road trip on a nice bike,,, wind in the hair while we still have it, as it were..

For those who don't know, Freddie has some very nice toys in the form of air rifles. I was allowed to try one of them out.
After a couple of warm up shots to get used to it I aimed for the leaf that was in front of the log. I actually made the shot where I wanted it.
The picture on the bottom right is where the shot was made from. I believe that Freddie had measured that log out at 30 yards. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Well I've been meaning to post this but just kept spacing it off.
While I was a guest at Freddie's home I was privileged to have been able to give his lovely bride her Very First Motorcycle Ride. She said she was scared to death, however from the smile on her face it seem that she really enjoyed the short ride around the block/besides she wasn't squeezing the hell out of me. We were doing a whole 5 MPH when Freddie snapped the picture.
