    Default Polishing blued razor

Hi, I've just received my new PRC with blued steel, does anybody have any good tips for maintaining a blued razor without scratching - removing the bluing? I have used Prelim but I think that will stay in the cupboard where this razor is concerned.

If its anything like s polished gun barrel, I'd say keep it wiped down with a silicone gun cloth, or hoppe's #9. JMO.

FWW, I do hone them with one layer of thin tape to protect the spine. A nice bevel sets them off well. An oil/Renwax care protect the blade and the original bluing is a protectant in itself.
Other normal oiling protectant products work also.

Pics? PRC must be selling a few razors these days. I'll have to stop by as they are in town.

Hydra 6/8 Spanish Point, shaves amazingly well straight from the box.

    I'm confused.

If that is the blade in question it looks more like a gold wash than a blued steel.

It does look more like it took a vinager bath, than blued.

Clearly gentlemen it is the effect of the light, in actual daylight it is quite a different colour. This might be a better picture:

The bevel shows up well in this shot I think.

    Ah yes, much better.
Keep it clean and oiled, don't use metal polish for sure. The blade was highly polished before the blueing treatment, or what ever it is. Its like mirrored window tint in a sense.
