Thanked: 237If you look for wood blanks on ebay, look for 6x2x1/8". If it's a burl, you'll want it to be stabilized. I just picked up 3 ginormous buckeye burl slabs that I'll be cutting up and stabilizing. It's sometimes difficult to find them in 1/8 thickness, but most sellers will cut them thinner if you ask, and most of the time that will yield an extra set. I've purchased many blanks that were up to an inch thick and can get 3 or 4 sets for scales. I know you said wood, but if horn peaks your interest, the ebay seller mygann sells good quality horn blanks. Get the 5mm thick ones if they are available, the 3mm are too thin if you ask me.
