W & B Frameback
Finished my first frameback restoration today. I say finished but I havnt given it an edge yet. I am currently at war with a T.I blade , so after that battle I will take the frameback to the hones.
The blade itself is quite thin , so I left the odd pit . Even so it took a bunch of hours to get rid of the mass pitting going from 400 grit to 3k grit.
There was a chip near the heel , kinda bigger than a chip. Instead of bringing the whole blade down to that level I reduced the metal heading towards the heel .
That has given the blade a funny look but I am left with a lot of metal to shave with and hone.
The scales I made from cocobolo . I made these quite thin and as slim as I dared, trying to give it an elegant look .
They spent a day in Neatsfoot oil and it worked really well even though the tin says its for leather and I finished them with beeswax/olive oil mixture .
The wedge is brass, so are the pins and solid collars .
All in all its one of the most beautiful razors ive seen.. The brass looks like pure gold
