Question Where dou you get Your Checkering files?

I am looking to get a good checkering file to make gimps on my razors I am going to make. Wondering how coarse a file do you use?

I suppose it depends on how many lines per inch you want I am pretty sure that's how they sell them. Brownells has them plus lots of other goodies for guns

Yes that is how they sell then. I was thinking of between 20 & 30 lines per inch.

I would think that would be plenty I don't remember all the different choices but I bet you're on a good track.
For my own curiosity, if its a hardened blade wouldn't they need to diamond? Just wondering

You can use a simple Hack Saw blade using double sided Tape to set up the spacing for Jimps..
