Thanked: 133Looking to get wade and butcher Restored
I have a Wade and Butcher For Barbers use straight razor that I am wanting repaired.
blade was given to me from someone who passed so wanting to get it in top notch shape.
Blade is 7/8 or 8/8 I believe half hollow with a square/spike end.
the scales are original and black however one has a small crack and they look sort of squished/warp so I think the scales would need to be replaced.
The blade has a small part that I guess you would say is chipped and I don't trust myself to hone it until the chip is gone.
Also I think the blade might be slightly warped? I use to shave with it some with no problem however I don't think I could ever get a good even bevel on it.
Will add some photos but they will be from phone so will not be best quality. What would pricing of restoration like this be close to?
If blade is warped to much for restoration (don't think it is but I'm not an expert) how much would I need to pay just for you to notice that and send the blade back.
sidenote: I have norton 4k/8k and not sure what route to go for finishing stone. Naniwa 10k or 12 or maybe a barber stone and needing a decent strop.

Thanked: 4828There are a lot of guys here that do restoration work. However there are also rules about soliciting on the open forum, No business is suppose to be conducted on the forum, just the back channels (PM). Hopefully you will get a few PM's.

Start reading posts where people are doing restoring and send them a PM. I do my own restores but not good enough to do it for others.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4828The member services area used to be quite active and it was the place to send people. That area is in the early stages of being reworked and there is not much there at this point. I wish I had an easy answer for you. If you ould like some names of people to PM send me a PM and I will give you a little better information.
