They,(Precision Granite) are using lose Diamond grit, (60um) granted, they are removing small amounts but they lap a 3X4 foot Granite plate in minutes. Very interesting process to watch.

I will have to try some lose diamond for lapping.

What was also interesting was their discussion on surface deflection due to temperature change. It would be interesting to measure the effect of hydration on a synthetic stone.
