    Default Anyone use Bill Morris?

Has anyone used Bill Morris of AustinStraightRazor.com here in Austin Tx for honing? He is the only honemeister I can find in the Austin area. As a newbie, I want to make sure my blade is appropriately sharp. Thanks in advance!!!

Just via google, he has videos of his sharpening and shave testing. Would prefer using local vs shipping if he does good work. I just don't really know what to look for.

    Thanks again!

There are a lot of guys that are as close as the post office. With postage being so fast and inexpensive in the US it is not a big deal to send it out. There are several guys close to Texas. I doubt it would take more than a couple days each way to send it to Modine for example, he in in Kansas, SRD is not any further either.

Yes, there are many excellent honers that are available through the mail. If you want a list of profesionals I can make a list of honers I have used. Just send me a PM.

I'm still wondering why Members Services in Buy/Sell/Trade is mostly empty.

Most of Kansas City is in Missouri!

I used to advertise in the old Member Services area, but the new one requires purchase of a Vendor's License for $50 per year. That's too rich for me, and by the looks of it most everyone else as well.

I went to the website mentioned in post #1 of this thread and watched several videos. To me the quality of the honing, stropping, and shaving displayed is not on a professional level. I have seen some of the best pros hone razors in person. Thisguyruns, you would be much better served, even if it has to be mailed, going with a universally recognized honer. Again, I would be happy to share a list of people I have paid to hone my razors, or bought razors from.

That is the impression I came away with also but then again I'm no pro either.
