    Default Blade Stain

I have an ebay razor with some black marks on the blade. I've tried using MAAS and a felt wheel to buff it off. All it really seems to do is make the stain shiny. Anyone have some tips in getting this off? Should I let the MAAS dry longer (I'm using it wet now) and then hand buff, or am I just going to have to live with it?

If metal polish does not take care of it you might try hand sanding with sandpaper from 400 to 2000 grit and then polishing it.

If it's a water stain, the maas should do the trick (and use the maas wet...I've never noticed that drying helped it work better).

The stain might be a light rusting that was previously attempted to be polished out, leaving it dark.

See if you can scrape it with something (I'd use dental tools, but if you do not have them, maybe an old fork). Under that 'dark' you might find rust. If that's the case you can try to scrape away as much as you can and re-polish. HOWEVER, that dark stain will come back with time... If indeed it IS rust, the only way to knock that out (that I know of) is to remove the rust (and it's little pit friends)..and to me that means to sand it out (Try a high grit sand paper first to see how deep it is, if it is rust).

If it's small enough and out of the way, you could also try to live with it

I they are just water or soap marks I find Simichrome removes them but if it doesn't then its rust and then you need some abrasive. If its very light rust with no pitting you could try some Cape Cod Polishing Cloths. If that doesn't work then you need the heavy artillary.
