Very cool! You sure got a nice co-worker.
I too had a gift of a razor from a co-worker last month. It was a Gillette new. No where near as nice as a Fili but he found it while cleaning out his mothers house after she Passed. I cleaned it up and tried to give it back to him with a handful of blades but he just didn't want it. I explained it might have been his dad;s or something but he said he never liked his step dad and she was a hoarder so no telling where it came from. Oh well, I tried to get a new Wet Shaver in the group. It just wasn't going to happen. It's just Sharpening, right?

Wow, thats gonna be a beauty! Thats kind the way I got started with Straight razors to begin with.... My uncle (84) gave me an old SR blade that belonged to his father, he had kept it wrapped in a cloth inserted in what was left of the original box, and told me "see what you can do with this" It is an old Griffon Carbo-Magnetic #62 "Rex Tonsor" it was pretty rough. I made some scales for it out of Ivory Micatra and polished and sharpened the blade and I was hooked! Ive bought several Carbo-Magnetics since but have never seen anothe #62 REX Tonsor (Master Barber) Its still one of my favorite shavers!
