    Default Gold Stamping

I have a few Filarmonica razors and out of the three two of them had pretty nice stamps when I first go them but over the years one of them has faded where the gold is pretty much gone, the other JMP stamped one looks the same so with all that said is there somone that can restore the gold or is it just the way it is.

When I first got it a few years back:

Now, as you can see the Filarmonica marking is there but the gold is pretty much gone.

yup..there is a way...there are guys using electrolise gold plating kits
i saw a Doubl Duck goldege getting restored by this guy Mark Yundt on Fb >>>Straight Razor Restorers Educational Forum...scrool trough the topics down and you will find it...He has a friend that can do gold etching...maybe he can help.

there is the other option of getting a gold plating kit for home use but it will run you @500$

The gold plating does look good on a razor. The only down side to it is to keep it looking good you can't use it.

Here is a thread that may help http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...gold-wash.html . For more threads on the subject just put "gold wash" in the forum search box top right of the page.

If you're realy that in to preserving gold wash just add a thin layer of nail varnish on top an you can even do light hand polish over it...I usualy tape the goldwash with transparent tape when I need tobpolis the blade.

The varnish goes away with acetone and does notbdamage the goldwash.
