Post shave update: The razor shaves very well. Very sharp and smooth. The tiny nick near the toe was not in action much and didn't feel any ill effects. I am pleased this razor turned out so well. I will put this one in the "A" file! Thanks so much for your advice everyone.

I have been surprised a few times how a tiny nick seen under a loupe can have little to no effect on the quality of the shave. Glad it all worked out for you.

Yes...I have had this experience before as well. The tiny nick remaining on the blade was benign, so I was pleased.
