Thread: New materials! (San Mai, Hybrid, Brain coral)

Lately ive been trying to use new materials ive never seen used on straight razors, at least not often... this is what i've come up with...

Here is some stabilized brain coral, looks amazing cannot wait to see other colors on these!


I also have some san mai billets here, but there is a twist. it has stainless stell cladding on the outer layers of this san mai with a 1095 core... i have another billet not pictured with mild steel out layers with nickel on each side of the 1095 core which im very excited to make razors with that billet as well...


here is some hybrid material, its honeycomb impregnated resin, maple burl, mammoth tooth... this material is fragile ive got it on some g10 liners but still worried, we shall see if she survives...


just wanted to show these materials, thought they were cool...

those two hybrids scales look amazing. How thin is the G10 liner? And how do you bond them together? send updated pix when you pin a razor!
