Cerakote blade?
I had this thought today and found one older post with in his opinion good results.

What do you think? Has anyone else tried it?

A lot of people like Cerakote, especially in Japan.
I never found anything fun about Cerakote, guess because I can't sing worth a hoot anyway.

I would think it'd be h3ll on your hones, but it sure could look cool!

Why would it be h3ll on the hones?

most ceramics are harder than most steels. and ceramics are used as a binder in a lot of synthetic hones.

True. a lot of knives use cerakote. most are sharpened with either a belt and/or diamond plates which are both going to be harder than the ceramic binder in cerakote. All of that said, I certainly didn't mean to say it would ruin a softer straight razor hone that is ceramic-bound or others. Just might lead to a little more wear than a typical blade. It would be interesting test!
