Thanked: 0Butter Knife Candidate?
I picked up this razor off the net to try a refurb project. The scales are good, Sheffield steel, and pretty rust free. Unfortunately it does have a little bit of a frown. What do you recommend to fix the blade, butter knife or just hone it out?
Thanks

Thanked: 634Bread knife the edge until it's straight. Hold the razor at a 45° angle on a course stone and move the blade like you are cutting bread. Same number of strokes on each side. Once you get edge straight check spine to see if it is straight. You can get a straight spine for honeing by using different layers of tape in low spots.

Thanked: 580Bread knife, you may have to grind the shoulder a bit too as you are gonna lose a bit of width.

Thanked: 4827I use a similar technique to bouschie.
I did laugh out loud at Glens joke.
When you are done the curve of the edge should match the curve of the spine, however slight that may be.It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
