Whatever the final decision is I am sure that the results will work fine.

I wish I could time travel into the future and be a fly on the wall while someone in the future discussed, "Why did they do this?"

Not a good day for sure but if this is the worst that happens you are a lucky man!

Go this route and you will never have an issue of your blade not fitting in the scales. But I do think its the best way about fixing it. Spine will be shorter but saves as much cutting edge as possible. Good luck and be sure to share the outcome when its repaired.

Hey guys I notice victor's shave of the days often have a very strange side ways S shape point to them... this point would save the full spine and what blade is left... although the point you've sketched up Max, looks really nice I think.

That is a crying shame. I had a similar thing happen to me when I was starting out and I only had the one razor at the time. Fortunately mine was repairable, but I sent it away to be done by someone else.

Good luck with this and I really hope you can bring it back from this, it is a great looking razor.

Check out my points. As Wightman says "this point would save the full spine ". If you don't like it you can still do a french or square point.

I had a great conversation with Maximilian today. The razor is being sent to him tomorrow to be repaired. Either Max or I will post pics of the repaired razor when finished. An Irish point very similar in shape to it's original form was the final decision for the repair.

Thank you again for everyone's help. Thanks again to Max for your willingness to help! This is a great group of people in this community!!

I received my razor back from Maximilian today. He did a fantastic job! If you didn't know it was damaged, you probably couldn't tell. I believe he also polished the spine/shank/tail. The razor is once again beautiful! I am so very appreciative of Max's willingness to help and his generosity!

I look forward to paying this forward some day/some how in the future!
