    Question Replacing horn scales

I just bought a new henckels 401 platinum, and I'm thinking about rescaling it in acrylic. I know a lot of you are shaking your heads but I just really hate horn, and I've already made some vector files for laser cut scales. My question is whether or not this would have a significant impact on the value of my razor.

As you know Ray, value is determined by the person buying.
    Or something like that.

If the rescale is done nicely and the blade in good condition, it will sell.

I’m kind of with Hirlau on this one. As long as the work is well done it’s all good. It just appeals to a different group of people.

Value is in the eye of the owner and purchaser. Some prefer original, I am on this side of the fence. The more original I can keep it the better, but there is nothing wrong with something different. As these guys said, if the work is done right that is what matters.

Who does special order laser cut scales? Never heard of that being done by request.

Just a comment here. The lazer cut ones on the 'bay are, in my opinion not what you would want. Just not stable, the horn is too fresh and/ or not properly harvested, it delaminates and warps with every change in humidity.. From my experience over a year.

I actually designed my own and sent them to a company to cut out.
