Default Help with stained patterned celluloid scales.

I need suggestions to remove the darkening from the right half of these patterned scales. Suggestions?

Prolonged bright light exposure. I wouldn’t want to bleach it.

If I can't find a way to lighten the stain, I may consider darkening the lighter half.

I think some have darkened Ivory with tea, not sure if it would work on celluloid...................

Tooth brush and Mothers or brush and toothpaste.

I was gonna say. Wet toothbrush dipped in Barkeep's Friend.
If it don't come off, it's in the scale. You can paint those, you know....

If you think it is something on the surface that can be cleaned, try polishing them. If they have actually gotten darker that is a head scratcher.

I clean scales like this with a gun cleaning brush. A toothbrush will also work. Put a little dish soap on the brush and give them a good scrub. You’ll be surprised by how well they clean up. Then rinse them with warm(not hot!) water. Be sure to dry everything very well and let them air dry for a good 24 hours.

Also, like Sharptonn said, they can be painted.
