Taylors eye witness 3/4 wedge
Ive recently managed to get hold off 2 NOS taylors eye witness 3/4 wedges one has white bone scales the other has black plastic?scales they both have slight pitting and black spots which ive removed to some extent with puma polish & a crocus cloth. Can anyone give me some idea as to the age of these as i dont know when taylors eye witnes stopped making . The bone handled razor has a & very thin scales & a lead wedge. I also got orignal box they used to ship razors in & razor tubes in exellent condition.

Are you sure they aren't ivory? Just wondering because I have an old bone handled Joseph Rodgers and an old ivory handled C.V. Heljestrand. The JR scales aren't that thick but they defiantly aren't that thin either. On the other hand the C.V. scales are verrrryyy thin.
Just a thought.

Actually most of the scale wedges on Sheffield razors are lead.they were made from flat thin lead sheet, and pounded to a wedge.I also think it is possible you have ivory scales(which you can test for,Instructions are in the archives(I think)Best Regards Gary
