The material at scale thickness if soft and the wood and resin actually seperated, that is why the CA coat was needed
I when I use hybrids like that, I have started to always do a CA coating, even if it shows no signs of separating.
By applying at least 1 layer of ca, you really close the bond between the 2 materials to that invisible defects stay that way

Plus I've found that CA really deepens the colors of the wood.
