G. W. Webster now with wings
Found this old and seldom seen G. W. Webster, in an on line auction last month. Replaced its broken horn scales with similar black walnut. Took the walnut down to 2.5mm and then decided I had better line them despite using stabilized wood. Used a nice thin red liner from Texas Knife Supply. Decided to fancy them up a bit using some Eagle Wings. Then Used some fancy rosette replica Nickel Silver washers and am happy with the result. Now will need to hone this old beauty up. Just to share. Thanks for looking. Austin

Thanks gents. Normally I am pretty conservative in my restorations but just got the urge to spin this up a bit. Went with the white camel bone wedge as it off sets the red lining nicely. Bought a bunch of eagles, jewelry findings. Just had to thin them on a belt sander. Added some glue and drilled a 1/16” hole and peened it up.

Did you just glue the wings on, Or drill a hole in them and mount them with a pin somehow? The collars also go nicely with the wings. A fine job! BTW, Thanks for all that I've bought from you in the past.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Jerry, I drilled a hole though both sides after I taped them together. Applied glue then added a pin with my thinnest washer then peened the top side. Then sanded it down and buffed it out. Thought the fancy nickel silver rosette washers would compliment the Wings without overpowering either. Fun working on this. Thanks for your kind comments and interest.

Oh, I see the pin now. Nice job hiding it. They look great. Now I got to make a trip the Micheals to see what I can find to dress a scale or two.
