NYC Scales - Just for fun
I've restored several razors and this is something I've always contemplated doing. I live in NYC so I thought it would be fun to make a set of scales in the shape of Manhattan. Why not?
I picked up a Joseph Rogers & Sons at a flea market and the scales were destroyed. I cleaned up the blade and I've roughed out the scales in Black Acrylic. Here's a few in progress pics. I'll post pics when it's all done as well. Thoughts?

interesting idea, don't see why it won't work. Who knew Manhattan was shaped (roughly) like razor scales?

Looks doable! Taper the edges off and make them smooth.
Let's see the end result someday soon. Should be neat."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 315Very cool! Kind of resembles gunstock scales. There was another member doing some more novelty shaped scales a while back.

Very cool idea!
You could draw, laminate or inlay a design of the Empire State Building onto one of the scales to make them even more identifiable as a Manhattan memento.

Cheers.
