    Default Early Christmas gift

I got a very nice surprise when visiting my parents today.
My mother gave me a brand new 10 pound anvil and a German made bandsaw.

An uncle of mine had them lying in the attic. He never used them, thought of giving them away and then my mother said that I could really use them...

I was just about to start on new scales, and last time I used a standard wood saw to cut the wood lengthways.
splitting and shaping the wood should be much easier now, as should pinning on a real anvil.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Wow, I'd love to have a band saw! You'll save a lot of wood with the thin kerf. I just ordered a used scroll saw from ebay for roughing out scales. Maybe it will cut brass spacers, too.
