Early Christmas gift
I got a very nice surprise when visiting my parents today.
My mother gave me a brand new 10 pound anvil and a German made bandsaw.
An uncle of mine had them lying in the attic. He never used them, thought of giving them away and then my mother said that I could really use them...
I was just about to start on new scales, and last time I used a standard wood saw to cut the wood lengthways.
splitting and shaping the wood should be much easier now, as should pinning on a real anvil.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

Wow, I'd love to have a band saw! You'll save a lot of wood with the thin kerf. I just ordered a used scroll saw from ebay for roughing out scales. Maybe it will cut brass spacers, too.
