    Thirding Austin's washers.

The only reason I'm making my own instead of buying his is because I want to clone some really obscure types he doesn't make, and I figured doing the regular ones would be good practice.

Also -- get a measurement of the washers on your razor. The first ones I cloned are actually a bit larger than the large ones Austin made the last time I bought from him.

These are more or less the specs on the ones I made, though this is from a CAD drawing I did off measurements taken from a washer on an 1830's Greaves Masonic razor. The ones I made, I only loosely followed precise measurements.

In practice, the washers on Sheffield razors aren't very consistent across time or manufacturers because most likely the punches were remade again and again and those workers were certainly not using micrometers with three decimal places of accuracy!

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I had already reached out to Austin. I've found several other collars that fit the bill from him but he doesn't make the size I'm looking for. His triple stack collar is perfect for the standard WB chopper but the one I need is bigger.

Zak - I will measure mine when I get home but I'm thinking the ones you made here might be the right size. You don't have and extra laying around that you'd be will to part with for the right price do ya?

Here's a pic that shows the size comparison next to one of Austin's stacked collars. It looks like the ones that Zak made might be the ticket. Has anyone seen these big ones anywhere?

I believe Austin is setting up to make some.

If you can’t wait that long, PM me and I’ll fix you up with some. Though it looks like those are nickle silver, which I don’t have any stock for.
