    Default Save the blue ducks

    Hey all,

One of my two favorite razors (out of the five I have) is my great grand father's dubl duck goldedge. It has been by far the easiest to put an edge on and consistantly gives the best shaves.

Only by my endless reading of posts here have I come to the realization that this thing must be in really awesome condition. The gold wash is still very prevalient and the ducks and engraving on the tang were still nice and blue on one side and half on the other side that the thumb brushed against.

Recently, I've noticed the ducks and engraving are losing the blue inlay. Is there any way to restore it? If not I'll gladly retire that razor or break it out only for special occasions since it is just as much of an heirloom as it is a fantastically crafted razor. I'm currently unable to offer any pics for a while (long story) but once I hve access to my own PC again I'll see if I can get some up.

    Thanks,
    80s

Just my opinion , since the razor is in excellent condition I would keep it the way it is and not use it . Most collectors place a high value on origional finish and any restoration will most likely lower the value of the razor .
