    The scales look like polished stone.

    The shape and your choice of collars and the lined wedge really provide a complement to the blade.

    Straight scales do play an optical illusion, as in they look bent but yet they are 100% straight.. I nearly went for the traditional FBU curved scale shape but forced myself to go different..

    I have this blade in front of my tv , so i am always glancing at it and the photos don't do the look & shape justice..

    Ox horn always surprises me because you don't really know what you will get until near the end....

    I made these today. One set has a green transparent scale and the other set has white parts which look deep and behind glass..Amazing effects which unfortunately don't show under artificial light and on camera.

    The black pair are for a W&B the green pair are for a Frederick Reynolds...Cheers

    No seriously i bought it from a Horn supplier which closed down a year or two ago..

    Your scales look very nice. Horn is such an interesting material to work with.

    Check out the pile in this video. It's quite interesting when he goes to bend the horn:

    I never thought of shoe horns, i have found online Ox horn button blanks , beard combs , massage tools, but never seen anywhere with the large blanks i have.. This place in Lancashire must have closed a long time ago. Mine came from sconny botland .
