    Default Bubinga scales

A new set of scales made of African bubinga, hand-rubbed varnish oil finish. Going to house a Wapienica blade. Not seen: ebony butt spacer.

    Jim,

Very nice. I'm working on two sets of scales from the wood you sent me. I'll post some photos when I get them done.

    Kyle,

Looks nice! I bought some bubinga 30+ years ago for some or another project and had a bit left over, so I decided to make a toilet seat for myself out of the shards. It's still in the making. Considering how things tend to work for my making things for myself, were it to be wedged into my coffin, it would still need a final sanding before the sealer coat. What's a fella to do?

In my experience, bubinga is wonderfully tough, hard, and stable, so it should make fine, fine scales. Nice color too.

getting around to it one of these days, Bruce
