    Default Clough & Co

For your interest and on the off chance of getting some information i present Clough & Co.

I have searched all my reference books and online but i cannot find anything on this maker. My Cutlers list of Hallamshire goes from 1623-1699, i am looking for the next 50 years worth and always looking for books on London cutlers..
I think there was a Clough works in Sheffield .

You can see my fix and i will need to re drill the pin holes.
Tomorrow i will pin it and start the process of restoring the edge..
    Cheers

    News alert update :
Tried to pin this tonight and the fix broke.
It was only half broken when I did the fix, hence it did not hold.. Now it is fully broken I can fix it properly. The shave of this will be even sweeter now. God willing

Great find, Joe. Fraid I cant help. Never had much luck with finding early or pre 1800 Sheffields.

Not sure if this helps but it might be a trailhead to follow.

Presumably the same John Wright Clough is mentioned in association with William Loy & Co. in that same time period.

Maybe the same as your Clough, maybe a relative or heir. Maybe no relation at all. They are mainly mentioned as "knife makers."

Not sure if it is related but the initials are the same as the aforementioned Clough and it gives a location. Here's the link.

Yeah, I'm wondering if it is a progression of the same family through about a century give or take. It seems like your razor may pre-date most if not all of that. Hopefully that will give you a trail to follow and maybe find something concrete.
