Thanked: 44Big'un
Finishing up this 10/8 blade inspired by the 'George Brittain' razors (really Brittain, Wilkinson and Brownell). Slightly narrowed toe that I copied from a resto I saw. Blade is 1095 carbon steel, emery finish, horn scales, brass pins with nickel silver rivets. Wedge is going to be lead. Bevel angle comes out at 17.5 on this blade.

Yep, that's a big'un alright. I suppose there comes a point of diminishing returns or of ridiculous...ness (if that's a word) but I don't know where that line is. I think it is like the line rendered from a judge's (or maybe supreme court justice's) opinion about how to tell the difference between art and pornography: "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it."
Personally I like blades hollow ground and about 7/8" but not bigger... because I have never used one and don't have any that are bigger.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17
