Thread: Homemade Razor Protection.

My go to is Mineral Oil however it is a bit light and not great for my purposes in the workshop and long term it evaporates.

At the other end of the spectrum is Renaissance Wax but i consider it only for long term storage.

Recently i made my own formula of Beeswax & Olive Oil.
One part Beeswax to eight parts Olive Oil with a minute in the microwave. It sets hard but soft to the touch.
I'm really impressed so far..

That’s funny because that is pretty close to my homemade pomade.

I have 18 lbs of beeswax within 1 foot of me at the moment.

I think I might have enough to give this a try.

Similar works well also for seasoning cast iron pans.

Lip Balm also. Rust free razors, soft lips & slick hair .

Your eggs won't stick in your pan!

As an aside I raise bees so I am a little biased with anything that uses bees wax.

There's a much softer version of the Renaissance wax that is used for polishing smoking pipes called Halcyon wax that I've found very good.
