I just picked up a Hawk for a good price. I have a few different blades laying around I’ll try a few and see what cuts best. I just cut the set I’ve been working on with a 14tpi and a coping saw, the tooth count could have been a little higher with a little bit more set. If your looking to rip blanks a scroll saw is not a good choice.

    .
Not ripping just cutting the profile from a 1/8-1/4 inch already ripped blank. It may turn out that the scroll saw is not my best choice for bone.

Missed this post. Is it catching and stalling the saw or is it taking too long? I still haven’t set my scroll saw up but I should tomorrow. I may be able to try some different blades on bone amd see if I can replicate your issue and figure it out. Just a thought.

It was breaking the blades> I was using a #2 when I switched to a #5 the problem was solved.

I’ll keep that blade recommendation in mind, turned out I didn’t get any time in the shop this weekend. My honey do list is going to run all the way into august, I just found out. Not to mention no 5” blades with no pins.
