My first at making scales.
Well, here is my first real attempt at making new scales. The razor is an Ern "Ator"
and is one of my favorites. It had a cracked scale, and repeated attempts to fix it just made it worse. Seeing that crack, even though it didn't effect the function of the razor, just drove me nuts. The new scales are made of an acrylic with a marbled texture. Not the easiest stuff to work with but I'm sure pleased with the outcome. Pins are simply brass rod and peened snug. The pinning was actually the hardest part. I practiced on some junk for quite a while until I got the procedure down well enough to attempt the "real" thing.
I also made a couple of brush handles out of the same material. I'm pleased with them also.
No matter what I think, posting pics in this forum and getting your opinion of my humble attempt is the real litmus test. So, what do you guy's think??
See ya,
Ed

Nothing like enjoying the fruits of your labour, is there? They look good, and they are your own, unique handles. Nobody else has something like it. That's worth a lot, I think.
Cheers!
