    Default Old school scales...

I've got another family razor comming I'm told that my great grandpa's razor has broken scales, so... When it arrives I'm going to take some pics and post them here. I'll be looking for a set of identical scales. Not knowing what is comming I'm kind of in the dark at the moment.

I want to restore this puppy to usable status. So I'm hopeing some one here can help me with a replacement set of scales

    It's here...

Well it's a Shumate Razor Co, Shumate's Tungsten. Very little wear on the razor it's self but as the pic shows, the scale is broken off at the pivot pin. I took off the scales so I could clean it up better, just a bit of active rust above the heel at the spine. Other than that it only has good 'ol patina.

I have a set of scales that may work till I find some replacement scales just like the old ones, or something close.

Traveller might be able to supply some black ones like that.

This seems to be a standard size razor so I'll keep an eye out. I had a spare set of scales and some "almost" thick enough silver wire, so I attached the scales (first attempt). Still a bit loose but these scales are already stressed enough from the last time someone rescaled them. So I'll not push that yet, as these are temp scales, I wanted to get this puppy up for a shave tonight

I used the back of a DMT plate and a spoon for a hammer to make the pivot pin work... not bad
