If you are trying to get weight on the back end for counter balance there are other options.
A smoother transition to the heavy end would look better IMO.
Seeing as it your first, I assume you are looking for input.

Look quite large. Did u cut them individually.?

Best to trace the blade onto a piece of paper, then draw your scales to fit. Then u can cut it out and glue it to a wooden paint stick. Cut that out, and u have a template.

Best to glue both blanks together by either double sided tape, or a piece of paper and a few drops of Elmer's glue. Trace your template to your blanks for a matching cut for each blank.

I prefer to leave them glued while sanding and shaping them. I glue white paper between mine, and use it as a gauge to evenly shape each scale.

Shape could use a little refining but I like that material. What is it?

Thats basically how I do it but I make 2 copies of the paper and glue them to the scale material and cut. Then usually glue the 2 halves together and shape them together.

I was just going for a unique/different design for my scales. The material is a blue pearl acrylic.I got it from masecraft.

As long as it looks good and you fell good about it, that's really all that matters. We're all different! Love the blue blending colors! Anxious to see the finished product.
