    Those colors on the blade face are from the light of the scanner. It's hard to not get those when the surface has a mirror finish....

    I have been able to remove blued steel with my Dremel, but I was under the impression that I'm removing steel to do it.

    As for the blueing coming off, no, it's not painted on. However, with time it will rub, much like the dremel is rubbing off the finish too....
