i did not notice you only blued those parts. where is the colorization on the blade coming from? there are 3-4 colors coming through the pic. is this the lighting? Originally Posted by C utz

Are you sure the blueing will wear? It's not like paint; it's actually the surface of the metal, right?
I have been able to remove blued steel with my Dremel, but I was under the impression that I'm removing steel to do it.
No answers, just questions.

Those colors on the blade face are from the light of the scanner. It's hard to not get those when the surface has a mirror finish....

As for the blueing coming off, no, it's not painted on. However, with time it will rub, much like the dremel is rubbing off the finish too....
