    Default New Razor Modifications

earlier in the week I posted on that new razor from China and I thought I would show you the modifications I'v made to the point and heel of the razor as well as the edge. On the point I put a bevel on each side. On the heel I removed one of the grinds that would not allow me to hone near the heel like I wanted and the last photo is on the honed finished edge using one of my paddle strops with chrome oxide. The paddle strop is made from the same leather as my hanging strops.

Interesting ways to change things up on the visuals. Seems they all start looking the same after a while

I got one of these a couple of years ago but didn't really use it till recently ... I've yet to get it quite sharp enough yet - but that is more down to my honing skills rather than the blade. Like yours mine has that annoying grind pattern that makes honing the heel properly impossible.

Now if only I could get a bastard hybrid between this and my new Wapi I'd be a happy chappy.

If you grind the back of the heel to get that extra grind spot off they work great.
