    Lots of things would work here. I just like the metal solution myself; seems easier to me than epoxy even. And I think it looks better, but of course most of it will be covered unless you have really slender scales.

    This was so handy today, I needed to re-stock on Micro's and was at work With this thread here, I didn't even have to think about of the sizes.... Alex was thoughtful enough to even include that info right here in the thread....

    I haven't read every post here so forgive me if I am redundantly asking a question again. I have used cutlers rivets when re-handling knives. A cutlers rivet is a male and female pair that have identical heads and establish a press fit when assembled from either side of the knife handle. I have also seen screws that have the same head but one is a female, sort of a threaded sleeve with a slotted head that matches the male screw. Do we know of a source for stainless or nickel silver devices like these in 0-80 or smaller?

    I have looked for an appropriate size of the screws you described for a long time now and can't find it small enough. Some guys are trying to explore different options and maybe they will report if they find anything.

    I have been looking for these types of screws as well and i think that Chicago Screws, or "Sex Bolts" accurately describe what you are looking for. though these kinds are usually used for binding paper documents together it looks like from my research.

    Does anyone know where to buy some smaller, more appropriately sized versions of these "Sex bolts" for use in re-pinning an old razor?

    Man, I tried once for weeks to find what you are talking about and couldn't find them to fit the small holes in most old razors. The closest thing I know of is if you drill the pivot hole out to 1/8" as has been said before on the forums and use 1/8" "barrel pivot" screws available at most knife supply places online.

    Necro Post!

    I finally broke down and bought some of these on my last microfastener order.

    I really like these. I am horrible at peening and these are a life saver

    * The little tool is worth the $4.50 they charge. makes life much easier.
    * I am ordering longer screws next time.
    * Microfastener shipping costs suck.

    Thanks for the reply Philadelph - I have a Genco Henry X that is my first real razor. before i send it away for honing i need to replace the broken scales, and I want to use adjustable pins for the pivot.... The pivot hole on the razor could be drilled larger i think without too much trouble... though i need to find the right length of pivot pin before i go nuts..
