Unfortunately, it's not an irc server with a port for irc clients. It's just a flash application that works with the forum software - all text based and mainly CPU intensive on the client side. It looks like it's probably an easy way to keep bandwidth needs to a minimum and without having to install any software.

IMO (mine only!) I wouldn't mind if a efnet .org channel were setup - Lynn could take ownership of it, and it wouldn't take any bandwidth or space on the SRP servers. Of course, then the chat would need to direct to the webspace login for efnet.org and those of us with irc clients could simply use that client...
