I am far from an expert but keen to learn. In my very limited experience it is hard to stick anything on a greasy surface. So I wonder how CA would stick on an oil treated surface.

I think, this could be work, when you give the liseed oil enough time to dry and than a fine sandig, before you apply the CA
But there is in my eyes no necessity for this. Lineseed an CA alone are enough for the waterprotection. And all two bring a fine fire in the grain of the wood. Linseed a little bit darker, CA clearer an finer.
Under shellac I ever use linseed oil without problems, because the shellac alone not do firing the grain enough.
