Default Can some one give me a hand please

I've got a straight edge razor, but the hinge is starting to loosen.

Any ideas on what to put on it to stiffen it a little

    thanks

Try two large heavy metal spoons and support the pin underneath with the backside of one spoon while you gently tap the pin with the underside of the second spoon. Tap, Tap, Tap. . . and it'll tighten.

+1 thats the quick way. Do it with lite taps and not with your good silver service.

Let me hijack this thread a bit. I have a razor whose blade wobbles a bit and is hitting one side of the scales. I can never remember if I'm to hit the side opposite the scale that is being hit, or the same side.

    Any help?

I think there used to be a post about this. I'm sure someone else will elaborate, but I THINK I remember Bill Ellis saying to tap the side where the blade is closest to the scales. Don't take my word for it though. I just recall something like that.

If it doesn't tighten up with this taping, it might be a slightly warped scale. Lately I have had to redrill a number of scales that were poorly drilled at the factory. I usually put a busing in the tang hole when ever the I pull the pivot pin.
