Thread: Refurb scales?

I have a Keen Kutter I got from ebay, it was aparently found behind a bathroom cabinet during a remodel. Each side of the scales is a different color. I am guessing the tan side is the original and the yellowish side is not. Is there any way to fix this or should i attempt some custom wood scales? I am good at wood working so this shouldnt be a problem. The razor needs to be repinned anyway because it is missing washers. thanks for your help in advance!

BTW, the auction pics give you kind of an idea of what the scales look like. the blade is in much better condition than the pics look like, i was VERY surprised. I can take pics if you would like.
