Dremel bristle disks
Guys,
At the get-together a couple of people were interested in the bristle discs that I use with my Dremel for cleaning up blades. Bill Ellis uses these things a lot.
They are made by 3M, and they are available in grits ranging from 240 to 1 micron. They are great for cleaning the tang between the scales, removing rust and dirt from jimping, and light blade cleanup.
The price tag looks a little high, but if you are planning to do restorations they're worth every penny. They last a long time.
I'm sure they're available from different sources, but I got mine here.

I got'em in grits to complement my flapwheels from smallparts.com, also in the 6/8" size.

I've seen these a few times and overlooked them due to cost. How long do they last? What is the base material holding the abrasive?

I use the 3" disks on my Foredom (the Dremel won't accept the 1/4" shanks on the mandrels). I get mine from Otto Frei.

They last a long time. I got six of each grit, and that was more than a year ago. Not sure how many razors I've done since then, but it's more than a couple.
