Default W&B How old is this?

    Okay,
I bought a WB from eBay last week and I am now just starting to work on it. Probably paid to much for it. Oh well. anyway it seemed to be in fair shape. has some honing wear. had a some corrosion and pits i am still rubbing out with Maas.
The edge had a bit of a concave and I have honed that out with a diamond bar sharpener. I want to get in in usable condition again.

My question is what is this and how old? more out of curiosity. this is what the blade says on one side

"The original and only genuine bow razor manufactured solely by Wade & Butcher"

the tang has a stamped bow, the text is deep etched.
Sorry about the pictures, cell phone is limited and i am not a photographer. The scales that came with this were not original and poorly done. I want to get some scales for this late.
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Check out this post. I found some old catalog pages from 1892 and 1893 which show your blade, so I guess it's about that old.

Wouldn't lost preclude knowing where one is?

He probably means lost culturally. Not too many cacti in Kannapolis ... or Concord, either.

I picked one of these up with the bone scales. sadly one of the scales has minor cracking. I'm going to have to give a hard think about whether they can be polished and stabilized.
