Thread: Celluloid Metal Blemish

A couple of razors of mine have blemishes on the blade that look like what may have been caused by celluloid deterioration, as per Bill Ellis website. Can this be stopped without replacing scales, or will this problem continue to stain the steel?

There is no way to stop the celluloid rot of scales. If thats whats happening then get the scales off that razor ASAP and clean the razor very well. Throw away the scales.
